Dinner & Dance; Chock Full of Beans

Company's Dinner & Dance
13 Sep 2013; Friday

Annual dinner and dance is an event that shows appreciation to all employees for their endless hard work throughout the year. This year's D&D was held at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, right next to Zouk. Same as last year, I was always the one sitting on my table, waiting for lucky draw but didn't get to win a single prize. =( Nevertheless, the food was nice and we had a great time together at the dinner as well as in the club later. I'm glad to be working with a bunch of cool and fun people from different parts of the world. My colleagues in my department are from different countries such as American, Columbia, Germany, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia. It's very interesting to work with people with different cultural background.

Here are some photographs from the night:

Look at how gorgeous Shujuan was that night! This girl should really dress up more often!

We partied off the night at Zouk/Phuture. I'm too old for club seriously. Ya, I know I'm still young (my age) but I can't feel the 'energy' I had when I was 18 half a decade ago. Even though I left the club at 2am, I was so tired on Saturday that I stayed home all day.

Recently I've written down a list of cafes-to-try on my iPod touch and Chock Full of Beans was one of them. Located at Changi Village (TPE Exit 2), easily visible from the street and it's just next to the carpark. There's a bus stop nearby with bus no. 2, 59, 109.

We arrived at about 11.30am and we had to put our name & mobile number into the waiting list at the entrance. The wait was about 15min as the cafe was full and there're two names in front of us.

Waiting List & Menu
The cafe was quite small with indoor and outdoor seating. We were assigned to be seated at the high table as it will be another long wait if we want the lower ones. Don't worry, the chair was even high enough for me to sit comfortably and you can rest your feet on the chair/table.

The cafe was very busy, nobody's taking order. I told my BF that maybe this cafe operates like Wild Honey, you have to order and pay at the cashier. One great news, they don't charge 7% GST and 10% service charge! We've ordered Portobello Benedict, Omelette (with 3 fillings of your choice) - Smoked Salmon, Swiss Cheese & Tomatoes, Honey Matcha and Hot Chocolate. I specially requested to have a minion from Despicable Me on one of our drinks and the woman at the cashier kindly agreed!

So cute right?!

The drinks with art designs were so adorable! We couldn't bear to take a sip as it will destroy the artwork. Hot chocolate was not bad, not as sweet as Starbucks'. Honey matcha was nice too. The mains were very average, I wouldn't recommend any of the dishes we've ordered as they tasted normal. However, it will be a great place for coffee/drinks! All their drinks are picture-worthy and will certainly put a smile on your face when they are served. Who can resist such cute coffee art? =D

I'm not very sure if I'll return to this cafe as there's a long list of cafes for me to try and their food wasn't that excellent. For those who're staying in Changi/Loyang, it will be great to have a coffee session with your friends/family.
